Do you put a price tag on everything?
Since success is defined disproportionately in material terms, many tend to put a monetary price tag on everything. It takes time to recognize that there are many things cannot be price tagged. And that the term success encompasses far more than just the material that we acquire.
This understanding comes to some early, but for many, it happens after they have collected more toys than they can handle. They then start wondering why happiness or fulfillment is still so elusive. After all, they were promised a permanent place in rainbow land once they collected all they had to in order to appear successful.
The first step to fulfilment, after this recognition, is to seek out those things that cannot be bought or defined in material terms. It is Spring now. Can anyone put a price tag on nature as it buds and blooms? Can you?
Nature gives without expecting anything in return. What can you give without expectations? What can you enjoy doing without wondering what the result will be? Who can you give your time to without expecting any monetary or other benefit?
Enjoy Spring as you search for these answers within yourself.
